Date: 21st August 2011
Objectives:
- · To aware the people about Environmental conditions.
- · To convince them to use eco-friendly products.
- · To increase the interaction and confidence between the members.
It was the similar Eco-Paavitrya activity we had conducted last year. We went in groups of 3-4 to all the flats in 9 buildings of Sarita Vaibhav and appeal them to celebrate upcoming festivals in Eco-friendly way. We not only gave them the pamphlet describing how one can celebrate in eco-friendly manner but also we stamped a note on their calendars which will remind them about eco-friendly celebration. This indeed was very innovative addition to last year’s activity. We got very positive response from all the flat members.
Activity II: Awareness Activity for Children at Treasure Park Society.
Project managers: Manoj
Date: 28th August 2011
Objectives:
- · To conduct treasure hunt type games including two tasks
- · Tasks include decoration and Conservation related messages
- · Members must encourage children in their team to take active part.
- · To send the message of celebrating festivals in eco-friendly manner by distributing eco-paavitrya pamphlet.
It was raining; still 32 DCT members gathered at the venue and were surprised to see overwhelming response from children. Expected children count was 25 to 30 & actual count was around 70. This made the life of the PM very difficult. With sheer presence of mind, he could make this act successful. 8 groups were made and two games were conducted. First clue brought the children to game 1 and second to game 2. 1st game was necessary for the children to understand difference between luxury and needs, what one actually requires and what extra things are.
Children were correct to gather the moral of the activity. Second game was to make children aware about what ecofriendly ways to celebrate Festivals are and what can be avoided during decorations in different festival. Finally with the help of clues gathered after both games, 8 teams were able to find 8 posters showing our invaluable natural resources, animals, birds etc. This concept of teaching children was perfect.
After the games, every team was gifted with a plant, which will be planted at Treasure Park itself. DCT reached children, on whom we all depend. This is really a step towards building a great nation. These children will definitely guide their parents if the parents act in contradiction to the ecofriendly ways, and they will check on optimum utilization of available resources.
Activity III: Awareness Activity at Kanchan Heights, Sinhgad road.
Project managers: Abhijeet and Shalaka
Date: 4th September 2011
Objectives:
- To distribute eco-friendly “Nirmalya Bags”
- To Interact with people with the help of questionnaire to give the message of celebrating festivals in eco-friendly manner
- To improve communication skills of members
- To get some new ideas, knowledge about natural colors, eco-friendly ways to celebrate festival..
We conducted the survey in society. We visited each flat of the society in the groups of 4-5 requesting them to answer very simple questions in Yes/No. Through the questions we asked them if they celebrate festivals in eco-friendly way. The questionnaire was really short and sweet, it hardly took two minutes to get filled.
We also gifted disposable plastic bags which they can use to collect Nirmalya from their house so that it can be further used for fertilization.
Thanks To: Sarita-Vaibhav Society members ,Treasure Park society members,Kanchan Heights Society members. Special thanks to Monika for designing attractive posters for children at Treasure park.
